Central Nervous System Infections
There are many viruses that can infect the central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord. The viruses that cause meningitis and encephalitis are retroviruses and herpes. According to the research, the viral causes of central nervous system infections are emerging and including West Nile virus, Japanese encephalitis virus, human parechoviruses, and chikungunya virus. The central nervous system infections overlap and can cause fever, headache, neck stiffness and light sensitivity.
